Manager, Strategic Markets Job

Details: Job Summary:Responsible for managing the assigned strategic partners to profitability through analysis and partner relationships. He/She will be responsible for monitoring product and partner performance at a detailed level and for making recommendations for future product changes, partner strategies, and potential new partners. Maintains an understanding of the business drivers and market situation within their market to proactively manage the vertical. Works with numerous internal resources and departments to achieve execution of business needs. Participates to drive tactical execution of all programs and ensure goal achievement, partner compliance, operations excellence, and bank soundness.Essential Job Functions:Gains understanding of our product and partner profitability dynamics to proactively participate in managing their assigned partners. Build relationships and buy in with critical internal resources (risk, pricing, finance) to ensure shared point of view on the business. Participates in client discussions based on analysis and recommendations. Reviews and distributes reports from CI&S and BI groups. Proposes adjustments and recommendations to Senior Manager and Director.Establishes rapport with partners and ensures meetings with all levels of partner organization occur on a regular basis. Communicates regularly with key contacts at partners via a mix of channels including: telephone, email, and in person at on-site meetings and various events. Participates in preparation and presenting partner presentations based on research, and proactive analysis on recommendations for the program. Creates agendas for and participates in meetings between key client contacts and Alliance Data. Follows up on issues and concerns generated by the partner as well internal stakeholders.Manages and implements operational aspects (Legal, marketing, collateral, quarterly audits) of the strategic l business to ensure we and our partners are in compliance with all appropriate rules, regulations and with an eye to reputational risk.Interface with all internal key business partners on efforts pertaining to new and/or improved capabilities and strategies to help profitably manage the businessPartners with the Sr. Manager and Director to manage the team at the highest productivity and quality standards to help optimize profitability and growth.Understanding of market conditions and competitive dynamics for the identified strategic market verticalsParticipates in the budgeting and forecasting process for sales and marketing expenses as well as the key P&L line items and understand variances as requiredQualificationsEducation Requirements: Bachelors degree- Marketing, Business, OperationsWork Experience: 6-8 yearsPast experience in Sales, Marketing, Operations or strong related credit experience. Supervisory and Client or Project Management experience.Other Skills, Knowledge or Abilities:Credit experience with a particular emphasis in marketing, analysis, portfolio/risk management, product development, product management, and retention. Ability to understand multi-product marketing concepts and principles. Knowledge of marketing concepts and principles (segmentation, offer strategies, testing strategy, seasonal planning, email, multi-channel marketing concepts). Strong analytical skills and familiarity with budgeting and business analysis. Professional demeanor with strong interpersonal and (verbal and written) communication skills, including the ability to influence others and be a strong negotiator. Demonstrated leadership qualities and skills to lead a team and provide direction. Ability to work independently with little supervision and serve as a leader and representative of Alliance Data. Ability to interact with senior management and executives. Excellent project/time management skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment. Ability to build and manage internal and external relationships. Ability to facilitate effective group presentations/discussions. Ability to maintain confidential information. Ability to identify and resolve problems. Aptitude for detail and accuracy. Ability to research and analyze data. Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment. Ability to understand core business capabilities and construct new solutions/products based on those capabilities.
